Gearbox Bellhousing Machining Service

To successfully install your gearbox conversion kit for 180sx, s13, s14, s15, Silvia and 200sx’s you will need to machine the Z32 / R33 / R34 gearbox bellhousing; this machining is required to position the input shaft splines correctly on the clutch splines and into the spigot bush, modifying/adding holes for the conversion, and/or adding threads for a suitable slave cylinder. We have pre-machined gearbox bellhousings available as an exchange service – send us your bellhousing and we’ll send you a prepared, machined bellhousing for a quick and easy installation. If our exchange bellhousing has already been sent out it’ll be ~20 days to have yours machined.

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

1. Scheduling in the work to machine the bellhousing
2. Cover bearings from machining swarfs and other contaminants
3. Set up, jig and secure the bellhousing on the CNC
4. CNC machining from the front face
5. Perform an inspection
6. Unsecure, turn over and re-secure (re-jig)
7. CNC machining from the rear face
8. Perform an inspection
9. Light air gun clean
10. Quality Assurance review
11. Packaging
12. Delivery

YOU NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING

Except for the bearings, remove and keep ALL your excess parts before shipping (or dropping off in person) including:

• Drain plug
• Fill plug
• Countershaft shim (this is usually stuck on with oil inside the bellhousing, or sometimes on the countershaft bearing itself)
• Selector check-ball valve
• Front cover
• Dust boot
• All fasteners

Once you’ve stripped the bellhousing:

• Clean it inside and outside with degreaser
• Rinse
• Dry thoroughly

4. Ship (or drop off) your bellhousing
5. We check over your bellhousing

6. We immediately ship back a freshly machined bellhousing (if you’re dropping off in person then you can grab the exchange bellhousing right away)
