STOP ON A DIME
Do you want a better Brembo brake upgrade than the Skyline GTR Brembo brakes for around the same costs?
- Incredible stopping power
- World’s biggest selection of brake pads and rotors
- Great bang for bucks
Here’s what we engineered: Evo Brembo calipers + Alpha Omega Racing aerospace billet caliper adapters + 350mm rotors.
ABOUT THE EVO BREMBO CALIPERS
We use the excellent Brembo brake calipers from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 (they are basically all the same) – newer in both design and age, feature external bridges, dual bleed nipples, correctly orientated staggered pistons, quick pad changes and dust boots – unless you like dirt grinding into your pistons/bores or doing frequent rebuilds – it’s also a road-legal requirement.
They are also larger and more rigid which all add up to give ‘more’ braking, better feel, finer modulation and ultimate control on the limit. Parts are everywhere so your choices are virtually endless!
Note: Don’t use the Evo 10 calipers because the mounting “legs” on them are longer which would force the caliper adapter to be smaller and weaker. For more information please see the tech article Evo Brembo Brakes On A Nissan – Adapter Designs.
Dual rear EVO 350mm Brembos!
ABOUT THE 350mm ROTORS
We specifically chose a huge factory rotor so that replacement parts are easy to get from budget friendly 1-piece to race-ready 2-piece. For the fronts we picked the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 front rotors @ 350x32mm, and rears are the Nissan 370Z rear rotors @ 350x20mm. These are BIG to provide enormous stopping leverage and heat handling capabilities to ultimately give you incredible brakes.
These sizes are explicitly selected by our engineers for an excellent brake balance “bias” and they’re a bolt-on fit. Balancing bias required some math and, rounded off to the nearest percent, our bias calculations put the “gold standard” Skyline GTR R32/33/34 Brembo at 70:30, front to rear. The EVO 350mm Brembo brakes front and rear gave us a superior 69:31 bias. To double check our math we turned to Google and found this page: http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com/bias-calculator
Using that calculator also puts the standard GTR Brembo setup at 70:30 and the EVO 350mm Brembo setup at 68:32 – a negligible 1% difference to our calcs. Here’s an interesting fact: the R34 Skyline GTR V-Spec 2 Nür / N1 models are the best production GTRs ever made, partly thanks to an optimised brake bias of 68:32! Those special edition GTRs achieves the 68:32 bias by only increasing the rear rotor size – from 300mm to 322mm – which is coincidentally what we’re doing.
Coincidence?……………. No, lol
ABOUT THE ALPHA OMEGA RACING CALIPER ADAPTERS: AEROSPACE BILLET ALLOY
By using a larger 350mm rotor we were able to engineer a caliper adapter that is bigger and stiffer. A larger adapter equals more strength and more safety. More stiffness gives a firmer brake pedal and reduces pad knockback. As with all bigger rotor upgrades there is approximately 3mm of pad overhang which is a small tradeoff for the larger rotor (increased braking torque), stronger caliper adapters and just plain awesome brakes.
Alpha Omega Racing caliper adapters are 100% CNC machined billet alloy, grade 7075, T6 heat treated. The 7075-T6 alloy is commonly known as “aerospace alloy” because, as you can probably guess, it’s used extensively in aircrafts – for its light weight and high strength qualities.
We make the kit right here in Australia so that you know the quality is excellent.
Note: We do NOT use the Evo 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 rotors (320mm/300mm) because there will be minimal material in the caliper adapter. For more information please see the tech article Evo Brembo Brakes On A Nissan – Adapter Designs.

NOTES
THE REAR 6mm BILLET HUB SPACER
To make the rear EVO 350mm Brembo brake upgrade truely bolt-on, we engineered in a 6mm hub spacer. This means your wheels are pushed out 6mm which is something to keep in mind for those with tight wheel / tyre fitment. If you prefer no spacers then we have a no-spacer option available here: Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge Rear Brake Kit. The 6mm spacer pushes out the hub itself, not the rotor, so you do not lose wheel stud thread engagement or handbrake drum-to-shoe contact. We provide longer hub fasteners in the highest 12.9 grade (higher than OEM) with silver zinc coating too, so everything is as safe as possible.
SILVIA HANDBRAKES
The Nissan Silvia (S13/S14/S15/180SX/200SX/240SX) handbrake is built into the standard rear brake caliper. Since we’re getting rid of that little peice of embarrassment, the handbrake will no longer work. A simple solution for a working handbrake is to bolt on the R32/R33/R34/Z32 rear drum handbrake setup.
WILL THESE FIT UNDER MY WHEELS?
These are big brakes so you’ll need minimum 17″ wheels. We do not keep track of what wheels fit as there are just too many different brands, models, widths, offsets, face types and style combinations – but some nice customers have sent us installed photos including specifications of their wheels; the photos and specs have been uploaded to the Alpha Omega Racing Facebook page – check them out in the “Photos > Albums” and whilst you’re there, give us a Like =)
Here’s a few 17″ examples:
Enkei NT03+m @ 17×9+15
(This is running Version 1… in the current version we learnt to position the caliper in the ideal 3/9oclock position to minimise pad knockback + lower the centre of gravity)
Kansei KNP @ 17×9.5+12
VOLK TE37 @ 17×9+15
NOTES
Removal, trimming or bending of the dust shield is required. A BM57 17/16” brake master cylinder is recommended.
